San Jacinto Capital

About

A Texas research desk that publishes its work in public.

San Jacinto Capital is where Old San Jacinto LLC, a privately held company in Houston, publishes its internal analysis. We write about Texas markets, Texas companies, the macro picture, and the trade that moves through the state, and we give it away for the benefit of our readers.

What we cover

Texas, at the level where decisions get made. A county has a permit office, a tax rate, and a port or a plant or a base that pays the bills. A company has a filing. We read those and write up what they say, one county or one company per piece. Around them sits the macro and trade work: the grid, the ports, what the state imports and exports, and the rates and policy that move all of it.

Right now that is 13 pieces across 9 counties, 1 public company, and the macro and trade pieces around them. The county series will keep going until it has covered every market in Texas worth an hour of a reader's time.

How a piece gets made

Every piece starts with the primary record. For a county that is the appraisal district, the permit count, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Dallas Fed, the port authority. For a company it is the 10-Q, the earnings call, and the price. We quote the number, the date, and where it came from, so a reader can check it without trusting us.

Company pieces close with a rating, the Street's average price target, and a plain statement of whether we own the stock. Submarket pieces close with what to watch next and when.

What we do not do

We do not manage money. We do not take customers. Nothing here is advice to any particular reader, and we say so on every piece.

Who publishes it

Old San Jacinto LLC, formed in Texas in 2026 and based in Houston. The company invests its own capital and manages no outside money. San Jacinto Capital is where its internal analysis is released. The founder's own holdings are disclosed wherever they overlap with a piece.
